The city of Savage graces the south bank of the Minnesota River and is part of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, as well as the Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve.  In a nod to the city’s rich history, The Hamilton living community bears the original name given to the city of Savage.  The Village of Hamilton became the City of Savage over 100 years ago.

It is a city that is abundant with entertainment and cultural offerings, has a relaxed lifestyle, and is conveniently located just over 20 miles from the central metro area.  The downtown district of Savage is home of The Hamilton, and various restaurants, shops, and markets are within walking distance.  Active residents take advantage of the beautiful views and natural settings in the nearby parks and on the river bluffs.

The area is full of entertainment options, including the casino at Mystic Lake, horse racing at Canterbury Park, and Valleyfair amusement park.  The main arteries of Hwys. 13, 42, and 169 provide quick and easy access to destinations outside the city.
